05.12.2025: 16mm test roll in my good friend Wesleyās garage. I had just picked up a few new pieces of gear and hit him up wanting to shoot a roll. This was shot on a Bolex S16 SBM + Tokina ATX 11-20mm T2.9. Shot on 7207 Kodak stock which seemed to work well with us going from inside to outside often with 0% controlled lighting. I wanted to see just how run and gun you could be with these things.
This was mainly a test roll to see what came from a completely barebones setup, being that it will primarily serve as a directors cam or B/C cam when shooting. Pleased!
12.23.2023: This was shot on a trip down south filming with Cam Richards. Just like any other day down there hunting for waves we searched, waited, and drove around for hours hunting for the right spot, the right wind, etc. Everything came together on the third day of the swell and we absolutely scored. Spending most of my young career filming surf on family vacations and stints of residence in the Outer Banks, I have shot with or around Jesse for quite some time. Was stoked to see him, Brett, and Cam in the water together on this day, made getting good clips pretty damn simple.
Shooting down there in the winter is brutal at times with the wind and the chill. Iām wearing a rain jacket to cut the wind due to being ill-advised and partially careless.
